Update: Forget Wine. Virtualbox from Sun is free and far superior. You can run Ie6, Ie7, Ie8. You’ll need to go to the following page and follow the instructions. It’s important that you read down the comments to get everything set up as needed.
If you get a blue screen of death on start up you will need to start safe mode by (frantically) hitting F8 at Windows boot and choosing safe mode. Once in safe mode run regedit and change Start value to ’4′ for the following then restart windows:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Processor
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Intelppm

hey.. is there a way to install IE7?
launches internet explorer just fine, but i don’t get the top bar on ie with “file”, “edit”, “tools”,etc. i need to get to “internet options” to install a security cert to access the one site i need ie for. thanks for your help.
Doesn’t work. Won’t install IE6. Though I am stuck with all the junk packages downloaded to my system.

Without the menu and address bars, IE is pretty much useless.
Very good. Made steam mostly usable, and other assorted things that rely on internet explorer as well.
I get an error when trying to start it.

I realized that it was installed under Archivos de Programa because the OS is in Spanish. However, now when I execute IEXPLORE.EXE I get a dialog box that asks if I want to set IE as the default browser. I have tried answering yes and no but I always get this:

It is really buggy, most of the buttons work but when I tried to type my pword in gmail it said the set i tto allow coolies, when I tried it rashed, again,
The graphics are very good but its too buggy to use.
It works fine for me too.
